Baby Nappy Bags | and everything that goes in them.

Baby Nappy Bags.

The birth of a new baby is a wonderful thing, a new little life, so precious, so vulnerable, and so perfect. There is so much to learn and so much to get used to especially if this is your first baby, and you will find that there so many choices of different products and services to help you along the way. A Good nappy bag will be one of the most important accessories that you will need for baby, and you will use it nearly on a daily basis. Baby nappy bags come in lots and lots of different styles, shapes, sizes and colors. It is just up to you to choose one that is suitable to you and does everything you need it to do.

Baby nappy bags carry everything you need when you are out and about with your baby, whether you are at the park, the beach, doing the shopping or visiting friends or family, it carries everything you need. So there are lots of things to consider before you purchase your baby nappy bag, including how much stuff will you need to carry, and therefore how big will the bag need to be. Some baby nappy bags are actually quite small in size, while others are really very large, and some parents actually find it beneficial to have 2 different bags altogether, one for the small trips and outings, where you don’t feel that you require much stuff for baby, and another one that allows for you to carry a lot more things, when you are planning to be out for the whole day.

Personally I feel that if you choose wisely in the first place, that you should be able to just have the one bag, I would not want to have multiple baby nappy bags, I would get confused as to which one I needed to take. So make sure you think about what you will need, and how much space that will take up, also whether you would prefer a backpack style, carry bag, sling bag, or one that allows you to carry it in a variety of ways.

Some of the kinds of things you are going to have to carry with your baby will include:
A change mat to lay baby on
Spare nappies, fabric or disposable type
Baby wipes, powder and creams
Bags for soiled clothing and nappies
Nappy rash cream
Extra clothing for baby
Bibs, burping cloths and pacifier
Bottles and formula if bottle feeding
Solid foods and snacks as baby grows

Another important point about baby nappy bags is the layout of the bags, and the number and the positioning of the pockets within the bags. Some tend to have plenty of pockets to hold all of the little bits and pieces while others just have a main compartment where everything goes. Both have their pros and cons, and mainly it comes down to what you as the user, prefer. Ideally I think you’ll need a certain amount of pockets, just to keep everything at hands reach when you are changing baby’s nappy, it will make it easier and less frustrating if you know where things are and can easily lay your fingers on them.

My best advice is to do your research before you buy, if you are buying online, read the reviews, and see if the purchasers of the baby nappy bags were satisfied and happy with their choices. One in particular that I think is a great buy, because of its ability to be comfortably carried or hung from the stroller, the 10 pockets it has for organization, its color, style and all round great usability, is the Skip Hop Dash Canvas nappy (diaper) bag. It comes in a few different colors to choose from as well, it really is one of the stylish and functional baby nappy bags you will love.

nappy changing crisis!?

my baby has just hit the 9 months mark, and changing a nappy has become the biggest issue!! everytime i sit him on the mat he starts screming and crawls away! ive tried everything , telling stories ,singing, e.t.c..to distract him but nothing works! nothing..if i try and hold him down he kicks and tries to bite and arches his back so its almost imposible to change him..at the moment it takes about twn minuets to do the nappy change wich is ridiculous!!please help its getting so stressfull!any ideas?x

I just want to let you know that you are not alone. This is sooo common….. yet can be very annoying. I use a chaging table… which helps…. on my changing table I have a changing pad. The changing pad has a belt…. which helps keep them in place.

Whats the silliest parenting "mistake" you have made?

I will give you my most recent stupid, absent minded mistake…..last week i was trying to get my daughter ready for day care (i had a tummy bug and she hadn't slept very well due to teething so i had been up and down with my problems and hers and had all of 3 hours sleep)…So i had all her clothes layed out, fresh nappy, i undressed her rubber lotion on her and dressed her…. We jumped in the car and i took her up to day care (i was supposed to work but because i was sick stayed home in bed) when i got home i walked into the lounge where i had dressed her and started to tidy up, when i realised i had forgetten to change her nappy……i had sent the poor munchkin to day care in the same nappy she had had on since 7 pm the night before, i felt terrible and embarrassed….im hoping i am not the only absent minded terrible mother!!!!!!

PS please dont bag me out for putting my daughter in day care while i was home…..i was sooooooo sick i could barely function!!!

I went to my parents home with our baby girl in the stroller, I did a bit of shopping on the way there as my wife was still at work (We worked shifts then) My mother had taken our daughter out of the stroller and placed the shopping I had bought on the seat of the stroller not realising and only stopping for a few minutes I said goodbye to my father and proceeded home, when I arrived home I opened the front door and eased the stroller inside when I discovered she was not in the stroller! In a blind panic I rushed outside thinking she had fallen out of the stroller to be met by my mother in their car with our baby in tow! I felt a complete idiot! and still have not lived it down to this day!

Setting up a nursery for a new baby?

Hi all you Mum's & Dad's out there…
My husband & I need some help! We need to set up a nursery for a baby & just don't know where to start.
I mean, if you go to a baby store you are bombarded with so much choice & it is hard to decide what is ESSENTIAL as opposed to what is just a gimmiky gadget.
So, what could you absolutely not live without & what did you buy that, in hindsight, you decided you could have spent your money elsewhere?
I need to know everything people, not just big ticket items but also things like:
How many '0000' size Bonds suits do I need?
Cloth or disposable nappies & how many for starters?
What is supplied in hospital & what do I need to take myself?
Best nappy bag?
etc…….
Any constructive suggestions greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance.
xoxo
I am determined to breast feed as I want to give my baby the colostrum with all the god stuff in it so I hope to not need bottles….not that there is anything wrong with bottle feeding if it is your choice but I would really like to breast feed my baby.
I would like to use cloth nappies instead of disposable as I am trying to do what is best for the environment. I have done some reading about the new cloth nappies called Bum Genius or Baby Bee Hinds but don't know if they will be any better than the kind you fold yourself. I know they are a LOT more expensive.
Oh yeah, I'm an Australian….so when I say nappy you American's need to be thinking Daiper!!!!!

I forget that this is an international market sometimes!

BTW: all these answers have been fabulous so far & it is going to be firstly, so easy to decide what is essential & what is crap but secondly, so hard to pick a best answer!

Also, I have a really bad back from a car accident so I think a change table & elevated bath will probably have to be on my essentials list.

MUSt HAVE LIST :
Soothie Pacifiers (sold at Walmart)

Did you change nappy type when your baby started crawling?

My daughter is 8 months old and has been crawling for a few weeks and I have noticed her nappies starting to pull down a bit as she is all over the place. I am currently using Pampers Baby-Dry but wondered whether to change to Pampers Active Fit? They are a bit more pricey so was wondering if it was worth it or just a money making scheme from Pampers?? Thanks in advance

Change to the Active Fit. My girl used to get scratches on the tops of her thighs with the Baby-Dry ones as they didn't stretch enough when she was moving around. She's on the Active ones now and much more comfortable. Well worth the extra money xxx

Egyptians: What can we all do to help save the environment?

What small things can we change about our everyday lives in Cairo to help preserve the earth’s natural resources?
Please give your opinions on any measures we can take - big or small - e.g. save water by reducing the amount of times we wash our cars
refuse to accept unnecessary plastic bags from shop sellers
use washable nappies instead of pampers
ban old cars
all switch to unleaded petrol
reduce AC emissions?
There are many many ways.
What would you think we should ALL be doing?
As a nation, do we really care?

Well Jannah, finally someone asked that Q. that was annoying me and whenever i told my friends to help just reduce the amount of pollution, they say why us??

lsn, we all MUST start with ourselves, but u may say why me?! they are all doing it, i.e: throwing trash…..well, they are right why change when no one will, com’on who are we kidding, we wont EVER be like the usa, uk, china and all these major extra important countries.
cuz if we start with the simple ppl like the ppl who live in local areas and these random places, will they ever stop polluting the air, i mean lets face it when u’re going to nasr city or Maadi…..I swear i see black smoke coming up from neath the bridge.
Rice leaves burning or whatever the hell is related to rice, what shall we do about that??
Ok, remind u of a not so pleasent smell of burning garbage in the way to dream park :-(
See lots of things to correct.
But, about what u mentioned, I think washable nappies arnt good for babies, imean if its just about the dipers, we could like throw them away,, i mean do u see a BIG flying piece of POOP flying next to ur car window?? Think not, anyway, we could definitly reduce the amount of using tissues i guess, though i personally cant since i have an obsession with tissues(I even wrote a poem for it :-P)
unleaded petrol, i think there isnt any petrol left in stations anyway, and ppl will get anything they can get their hands on and afford!
AC emissions i could definitly help u in this, like turn the ac on in the morning and like in the evening turn it off!!

See Jannah, We all, deny it or not, love THIS country of ours, so we want to help, but we need like a Brain-washing machine to direct the ppl to the right, cuz we all screwed it up in a way or another.
We may do the least thing, that will help, TIE the garbage plastic bags really well so when the garbage collector comes, he doesnt spill all the garbage out, i mean the smell, aghhhh really gross.
We may also stop throwing the garbage from the cars, i mean who lets his child do that, CLAIMING to be civilized, ummm NOT :-S
This annoys me cuz i do as much as i can to stop this nothingthless going on, but sorry to say this there’s nothing we can do to try to save it NOW!

nappy diaper bags? just for fun!?

before i had a baby i had a different purse and handbag for every occasion! i was just wondering if anyone else has loads of different diaper bags? and how much would be the max you would spend? i have 3 at the moment and im looking at a 4th! my son is only 8 months old lol!
there are some lovely diaper bags out there but some are just stupidly expensive! like $500 i think that is just stupid! but for the right one i probably would pay like $150! my fave brand is ju-ju-be there fab and have so many sections! and come in such funky colors! not boring old granny looking ones lol!
when i look at new ones my boyfriend just rolls his eyes and says oh honey thats a nice one lol!
how many do you have and how much would you pay for the ultimate diaper bag?
well im glad its not just me lol! i have lots of shoes too! whoops!

I now have 2 diaper bags. For 13 months I had the same exact diaper bag. But, I decided it was time for something new last month :)
The most I would spend on a diaper bag is $50. ha.
I have the plain Similac one I got in the hospital.
Then… my grandma bought me a new diaper bag. That I totally didn't want and was way to expensive. It's not an actual diaper bag, but it'll do. I would NEVER pay as much as my grandma did for this purse/diaper bag!
She got me a Coach, I love it and won't complain :)

Huggies VS Pampers?

Which nappy do you prefer? Huggies or Pampers?

I have been using Huggies for my daughter (now 5 months) since she was born and lately I have noticed that Huggies nappies are getting worse. They split all the time and that SAM gel goes everywhere! Often they arrive in the bag and the fasteners are already loose. I am seriously considering changing nappies - any problems with Pampers??

I actually preferred Pampers, I thought they were as equally good yet a few dollars cheaper

Does anyone know a good nappy bag to use for twins?

I currently have a 'hundreds and thousands' satchel that I got from K-Mart before the babies were born 7 months ago that is still in perfect condition but it simply is not big enough. I am going on a holiday and will need a bigger bag especially to take on the plane.

I don't have twins but I have read great things about the Skiphop double diaper bag for people with multiples:
