im only 32 wks pregnant,i have my pram, crib, sterilliser, bottles, nappies, baby tioletries and lots of clothes…and was wondering what i should have thought about getting that is most important at the moment…i dont get a large amount of money for about 3 weeks yet so i have little bits of cash here and there until then. my parents said to start on my hospital bag…then the other things after because they arnt so important…
I also wanted to know if maybe i should start exercising?
Keep exercising your pelvic floor and aquanatal classes are great.
Your parents are right. Get the hospital bag sorted. Make sure you have everything you need for baby and you. Treat yourself to some nice toiletries (for you) and make sure you have camera and film/memory card sorted. Any music you might want too, as well as all the basics.
Have you written a birth plan? You could start thinking about what you do and don't want.
Do you have/need a car seat? If you do it would be good to get this early so you can work out exactly how it goes in and out of the car and how baby fits safely in. They're very simple but can seem amazingly complicated on the doorstep of the maternity unit when your going home!!
Enjoy some you time before it's all baby time… Good Luck.
Oh, and get some terry nappies - they're so useful for wipe ups and covering your shoulder when burping, covering cold changing mats, just about anything.

Well im 34 weeks pregnant and i am very large and everyone keeps saying you need to pack your bags
But seriously i think that when i go into labour i will pack my bags in that time
I use alot of the things now that i want to take to hospital…
So HONESTLY will i have time to pack in my first stage of labour
Well i have packed my babies bag that is ready to go i packed
8 singlets
4 suits am going to pack 3 more but want to get some special ones
6 blankets receiving and wraps for sleep time
towel and body washers
Bepanthen cream for nappy rash
Body lotion for baby
packet of wipes
packet of nappies
Baby manicure set
2 baby hats, 2 pairs of baby mits, 2 pairs of socks
\6 bibs
2 burping towels
anything else i may need?
And in my bag all i can pack now is my breast pump and bottles incase he cant latch on
And i am buying a moisturiser and spare makeup to put in
I also can pack breast pads and maternity pads but everything else is going to have to wait or cant it?
Actually in tasmania where i live they dont provide anything for baby at all but cap for their first night to sleep in that is all
And they provide 2 maternity pads for the mother and 2 sets of breast pads
I think you have time usually to pack your bags when your in labor however you may forget some things if it is either late at night or your in a lot of pain when you realize your in labor.
I didn't take much.
for baby I took
*Rash cream(hospitals usually don't provide this)
*A couple different pacifiers (in case the baby didn't like the shape the hospital provides)
*A cute hat (the hospital ones are ugly)
*An outfit to bring the baby home in
*car seat
*blankets (It was cold when I had my kids)
For me I took
*an outfit and undergarments to come home in
*brush for my hair (hospitals usually provide only a comb)
*My own soap and shampoo (hospital soap stinks)
*Lotion and chap stick(Again hospital lotion stinks)
*Toothbrush and toothpaste
*Socks and slippers(hospitals have cold floors)
*Robe (hospital gowns don't cover much embarrassing when people come to visit)
*Razor so I could shave (hospitals have electric razors only, I like a real razor)
*deodorant (they only have antiperspirant I cant use that stuff)
*camera and video camera
I think most people take too much stuff. They never use half of it and its just more crap to have to carry out later. The hospital tends to like your newborn in the shirts they provide and their blankets so yours don't get lost on accident. I never felt like changing a lot of bleeding after a birth for a day or so, why ruin my clothes. And putting on my makeup way too much work to lift my sore arms, when all I wanted to do was spend time with my baby. I even had my husband help me pull back my hair because my arms and back hurt so bad after each child I couldn't do it my self. congrats and good luck on the birth of your new little one

The yojiki baby swagbag is a diaper bag/ nappy bag with a difference.
It is easy to unfasten. Just unclip the two buckles and the mattress unravels.
Perfect to line public change tables. Makes a soft portable playmat, and is great for tummy time!
Take it on a picnic, your next holiday or to the beach. You can even use it to pad the seat of a shopping trolley.
Keep it in your car to make nappy changes a breeze!

Hi to all …
I’m going overseas this Wednesday and I’m kind of confused about what I’m allowed and not allowed to take with me on board the flight in my carry on bag.
I’m going to Jordan in the middle-east from Australia its a 14 hour flight just from here to Dubai I have a 2 month old baby as well !!
So please help me understand the whole liquid not allowed thing…am i allowed a small 8ml perfume bottle and what about all the baby nappy rash cream etc..??

I’m not sure whether you are flying with Qantas but from what I have heard it is the same with every airline.
This site also mentions information about things for babies.
You can take 100ml on the plane, so yes you would be fine with the 8ml bottle and nappy rash cream etc, but make sure you read the site. Also, your baby has the same luggage “rights” as you, so between you, you would have double the amount.
Hope that helps.

my little brother (1 year old) always kicks, screams, and makes a fuss when he's having his nappy changed. giving him a toy dosent work and he always wriggles free - what can we do?
A snack, a wipe, a pen
Try something he wouldn't normally have. That works for us really well.

Today when I went out to my car to get my cell phone that I had left in there I got the rude shock of finding out that my baby son's nappy (diaper) bag had been stolen from my car - in my driveway. To add insult to injury, my purse and phone were both with the nappy bag and too were stolen. All day, since finding this had happened, I have felt just destroyed. It wasn't the purse or phone, though annoying and frustrating to have to cancel cards and suspend my phone service, what really has bothered me is that someone would take my baby's bag. It had nothing of real importance in it other than his baby clinic records, just some clean nappies and wipes and some extra clothes but I feel gutted that this was taken. I feel like it has been stolen from him. I know he doesn't even know it was taken and I can't really work out why it has affected me so much.
Does anyone have any idea why it might be affecting me this way?
It's because your world has been violated by some low-life. I have had a similar experience, and it is not the loss of the "stuff" that's the problem (that's all replaceable), it's that someone has violated our personal world. The way you feel is natural, but it will pass with time. Remember, people are mostly good. Good luck!
