Baby bag help…?

04
2008

I have got a 5 month baby girl called Natalie and since she was born I feel we have been really putting too much in my baby bag for her! I usually put loads of spare nappies and wipes and drink and food and blankies and toys!! I am expecing another baby in 7 months so I would really appreciate some baby bag tips!!

Thoughts & experiences please!! What did you put in your baby bags? Weird question sorry :) xxx Ash xxx
Aww thank you everyone…
Yeah I should know by now- I just wanted to know what you put and compare it to what I use!!

by now you should be able to figure out exactly what you will be needing for her when you are out. Just limit the bag to only those things. You can leave more extras in the trunk of your car if your worried you will run out.

I'm assuming nappies are diapers? I don't think that sounds like too much really. I would only put one blanket and one or two small toys, just don't put lots of anything. Judge it based on how long you'll be out.

I have diapers and a couple of plastic bags for disposing the dirty diapers, wipes, disposable bibs, a few toys/teethers, extra pacifier, rash cream and a diaper changing pad.

When we are planning a day trip, I add a snack cup with spill-proof lid and a sippy cup.

I also have a small first aid kit with band-aids, alcohol wipes thermometer and Tylenol.

I over-stuffed it in the beginning too! But now I just put the essentials in the bag… I bought these containers that hold formula in them… all you do is prescoop the amount of scoops you need and close it and go, the company that makes them is Munchkin and they sell them at Target. Super duper handy I tell ya!

I also put some diapers of course, a little container with baby wipes in them, and usually one onesie and one sleeper. I bring two burp cloths and one bib. I usually only bring one toy and that's about it. It also depends on how long I'm leaving the house for, but if it's just for a few hours then that's about all I really put in the bag.

Alright, hope I helped a little.

in my bag when going on more then a 4 hr trip (overnight to grandmas) or another outing

    diapers
    diaper rash cream
    toys
    bottles
    formula
    x-tra clothing
    hand sanitizer
    burp cloths
    jar foods
    spoons
    bibs
    wipes
    infant Tylenol

if a short trip to the store or doctors office under 4hrs

    diapers
    wipes
    diaper rash cream
    toys
burp cloth 1 bottle and 1 jar of food ( just in case he gets hungry )

but you never can be to prepared who knows when he is going to mess through his diaper or spit up or throw up on himself, or if stuck in a traffic jam, or if it goes over 4 hrs.

    can't think of anything else

    My bare minimum supplies are:

    1 travel wipe container
    1 diaper
1 onesie in case of clothing disaster
    1 cloth diaper for spitup
(that's all I usually have, and I even just carry it in my regular purses.)

The next level (adding to the first) are:
    2 diapers
    1 light blanket
    1 toy

The next level, for a car trip longer than an hour, or for church:
    A couple books
    A baggie with snacks

That's it! I've really pared down my diaper bag since I had two.

i was the same id stroll to the shop with enough nappies to last the week, use a week to note down wha you need and howmuch of it then compare and go from there, im2 expecting in 7 months i know how you feel but my child is 2 now and youll probably find that by the time the new baby comes youll will need much less in your bag than you do with a younger baby

By about 6 or 7 months, I didn't take a bag for my daughter. I used to leave a change of clothes and nappy/wipes supply in the car - permanently, and have 1 nappy with a nappy sack folded inside it, and a small pack of wipes in my handbag (breastfed, so no bottles necessary). Once we started solids she got her own small lunch bag which just hangs on the pushchair.

    Works for me!

I hardly used one! I just invested in a nice decent sized bag for myself!

2 nappies are enough for a long time unless your going out all day.

Wipes (usually a pretty empty pack that doesn't take up much room)

Drink (milk or water depending on age)

Snack (my son is almost 2 now so its organix crisps or fruit)

    Book or small toy.

Thats about it really, unless your going to the middle of nowhere for the day then you need to be a bit more prepared!

I've never bothered carrying a change of clothes unless we're out for the whole day. Obviously when he was at bib stage I used to carry a couple and an empty carrier bag for any dirties.

Depending on how long i was out for i put about 3 nappies. A pack of babie wipes. A bottle of juice. (If she ran out id buy some ready made from boots or mothercare). A toy and let ,my daughter hold another one and just put blankets if needed on the shoppin tray on the bottom and an extra few of her favourite toys there 2. As for food you can buy bowls where the spoon sits inside them with a lid on so you can just put the food straight in there so that saved a bit of space too. Im in the same situation ive got a 10 month old and another baby due on january 14 so im goin to have to start space saving too lol. Good luck. Happy bag packing lol :-)x
