How many nappies in a 24 hour period can vary? I would say a minimum of 6-8, there isn't a maximum. Babies tend to wet or soil after each feed, and you want to have them dry to sleep.

I wouldn't pack your whole bag up with nappies.
If you have a normal vaginal delivery you will usually spend between 12-24 hours in hospital - and if you have a C-section it is usually 3 days. (Im presuming you are in UK as you said nappies not diapers :D)
I would put about 6 in your bag, if you get low/stay longer get your partner to fetch more. If you run out and need one quick, then hospital or another Mummy will have one.

Good luck, and enjoy your pregnancy and mummyhood xx

you wont need to bring any to the hospital, they will provide you with plenty.

and on "average" a newborn will go through 5-7 diapers in a day. again, thats average….sick babies go through more, obviously

Just bring a small newborn pack-
If you are in the US, let the staff know ahead of time, because once they open a pack and put *one* on your baby, they will charge you a 5-6 x inflated price for the whole pack.

8-12 diapers per 24 hours, depending on the "poopy frequency" of your particular child :)

You do not need to pack diapers for the hospital-they will supply you with them during your stay. If they open a package of diapers at all for your baby, they will charge you for the entire package so even if they put the first diaper on your baby in the nursery and you use yours from then on, you will be charged for the entire package. Might as well take advantage of it! Also, any diapers in an open package you can take home with you because you/your insurance has already been billed for them.

I think a newborn will go through approximately 8 diapers in a 24 hour period, give or take.

Congratulations!!! I wish you the best!

6 to 10 a day. Why will you be in hospital for so long? Will you have a c-section?

People: in the UK many hospitals do not provide diapers for the newborns - parents are expected to bring their own.
