Baby Nappy Bags | and everything that goes in them.

Everything you need for a new baby?

2008

I am in the process of compiling a ‘what to buy’ list for my sister. I have tried to include everything I needed for my baby plus a few other bits.

Can you think of anything I may have left off the list?

EVERYTHING YOU NEED FOR A NEW BABY

10 vests
10 baby gros
10 bibs
5 pairs of socks
2 hats
2 pairs of scratch mits
5 muslin cloths
grobag
two thick blankets
two thin blankets
baby monitor
bed/cot
moses basket
mobile
room thermometer
rolling mat
play mat
bouncer
swing
pram with foot muff & rain cover
parasol
car seat
chest of drawers/wardrobe
nursing bras
breast pads
gripe water
breast pump?
bottles?
formula?
2 dummies
pram toys
few other toys
talc
changing mat
nappies
wipes
2 towels
baby wash
baby bath
changing bag
cotton wool
nail kit
vicks
sudocrem
food storage containers
feeding spoons

Wow, that’s some list!
In fact, you might find that you won’t even need some of the things on there - or you at least won’t need them for a while. You don’t need a baby swing and a bouncer too - they both serve the same purpose really. You probably won’t need a parasol for some time seeing as summer is coming to an end (did it ever start??? Bloody British weather…) and a lot of mums don’t bother getting in the formula/bottles etc, seeing as it makes it so much easier to give up breastfeeding if the equipment is there and waiting. If she struggles and decides to bottle feed, it’s easy enough to get that stuff. You did miss out a steriliser, but again, unless she’s bottle feeding she won’t need that until she’s weaning onto solids at around 6 months.
Best of luck, it’s nice that you’re helping her out - my sister’s bloody useless!

you wont needing feeding spoons for a while. maybe one of those thermometers you get that tell you the temp of the room so you know what to cover them in at nigbt. i would advice against grype water for a newborn. i did that and my baby got ill. i was adviced to use something called infacol. it slowly digests in their tummy. helps with colic and designed for newborns. once the baby is a month upwards they can use grype water. also maternity towels for your sister once she has had baby. good luck wih the newborn! xxx
