Huggies VS Pampers?

Which nappy do you prefer? Huggies or Pampers?
I have been using Huggies for my daughter (now 5 months) since she was born and lately I have noticed that Huggies nappies are getting worse. They split all the time and that SAM gel goes everywhere! Often they arrive in the bag and the fasteners are already loose. I am seriously considering changing nappies - any problems with Pampers??
I actually preferred Pampers, I thought they were as equally good yet a few dollars cheaper

you probably just got a bad batch of diapers. I've used every kind and they all work about the same

PAMPERS DEFINITELY…SINCE MY SON WAS BORN, I FIRST USED SWADDLERS THEN WENT TO CRUISERS WHICH HE STILL WEARS…HOPEFULLY FOR NOT TOO MUCH LONGER!! ALMOST POTTY TIME!

I haven't had any problems with the Pampers. I use Huggies sometimes and haven't had any problems with them either.

All diapers tend to do that at one point or another
I gave up and started buying Target brand, same difference

I have never had any luck with Huggies, the tabs always come off or loose, they leak and fall apart. Pampers are good, but I have used LUVS with every single child and they are far superior in my opinion and much cheaper, if the store is all out then I use pampers. I have not even tried Huggies with my twins, I had given them a shot with my first three boys and had nothing but trouble. As did my sister in law with her three children.

I had a problem with pampers with my son, because it is scented and gave my son a bad rash. That was the only thing I didn't like about pampers. I agree with you about Huggies. The velcro didn't stick all the time, or the fasteners were gone sometimes.
So I gave up Pampers and Huggies and went for the store brand.

Haven't used diapers in years. I used to use cloth in the day and disposable at night. I personally perferred Huggies with both kids. You could call or write the Co. to lauch a formal complaint. There may be something going on that they are unaware of.

I've used Pampers swaddlers on my son and have had no issues with them. They're nice and soft but they are expensive. Both Pampers and Huggies are going to increase their prices next year, so I've switched to Luvs and I actually like them.

OMG I totally agree. I have had the same problem I wrote to Huggies and complained. They sent me coupons for two boxes of huggies and said they are looking into the quality problems.
Try it you might just get some free diapers too.
I still think I am going to go with pampers though. haha

I had the same prob with huggies, I've actually started using asda's own nappies. They are perfectly fine and never split or leak. They only cost £3.50 a packet too so it means I can spend a bit extra on a treat for my gorgeous boy!!

I have used CVS brand, Luvs, Huggies and Pampers for my 10 month old son. I ALWAYS end up going back to Pampers!! I have no problems with these, especially the swaddlers/cruisers.
Stick with the pampers, they are more expensive but worth it. Go on the website and register they will probably send you coupons. I am also doing the pampers reward points which you can get stuff from.
Congratulations on your 5month old!!!

Pampers!! Never had a problem with them. Had the same problem with the other brands, my son would wet through them.

They are expensive, I buy mimo, very good value for money from Aldi, as good as the expensive brand.

between huggies and pampers i'd choose pampers but i use asdas george nappies they are just as good and slighty cheaper

When my daughter was that young, I used Luvs. I started using Huggies later on because I liked the elastic waist as opposed to the Luvs, and I had never tried Pampers. I never had a problem with Huggies splitting or anything, I've gone through times of leaks with any diaper I've used. The only terrible diapers I used like that were Parent's Choice from walmart.

For me it had to be Pampers all the way ..with our twins we tried them all and found them to be the most comfortable and held everything inside ..no leeks !

Why use disposables? Good old fashioned towelling nappies are best.

Why don't you try a supermarket own brand?? They are certainly easier on the pocket and just as good as pampers/huggies

we pretty much just use Pampers … but I am suprised I REALLY like Walmarts generic White Cloud except they run a size larger than they say on the package …
we get Pampers in bulk from babies r us so like 96 pampers in newwborn for $22.00 and 216 for $30 in Size 2 and 155 for $30 in Size 3 ……. but I will most likely try the White Clouds in 3 weeks until my son grows into the Size 3's ..
we were given Huggies from someone and I do NOT like them …..

My daughter is only a five weeks old, so I don't have extensive experience….
For her newborn diapers, Pampers Swaddlers were definetly best. I tried buying a few store brands and other name brands, and NOTHING was as good as the Pampers. I just switched her to size one diapers a week ago b/c she can fit in both sizes, and I didn't care for the the size 1 Pampers on her. They seemed really bulky below the fastening and she seemed to notice her wetness in them immediately. I tried Huggies size 1 and much prefer those! When she pees alot, it doesn't do that gel ball thing that I hate! Also, it has an elastic-y waist band, which makes me feel more secure about her (sometimes explosive) bowel movements.
I think you really have to just try it and go off of your baby's body and fit. My sister had three kids and each used a different main brand. Their bodies were built differently, so features of different brands worked better on some of them but not the others.

Pampers are great; I founded the tape on the huggies was noisy so I switched to pampers and we've never looked back! Plus my daugther loves the animals on the front; I always tell her the name of the animal and try to imitate the sound it makes which she loves.

iv never had a problem with huggies, pampers and luvs i find them all way better then parents choice and white cloud both were a real waste of money.

I have had bags where the fastners were broken, or broke off right away..Its a defect in the lot..Take them back, and call Huggies before you do..They will send you free coupons! YEYY! (done it!) I usually use pampers then switch when they get older..You may have to experiment with different kinds, or go up a size!

I like Pampers the best–they are soft and tend to work better and moves when the baby moves. Huggies don't really do that–the elastic isn't as tight and doesn't seem to offer as much protection. Luvs are just fine, although it feels, to me, that you are just sticking a plastic bag on your kid and can't imagine them being all that comfy. They are cheaper, but they're not soft.

20 years ago, Huggies and Luvs were the best and most expensive, Pampers were next and thats what we used. Now as a foster parent I am finding Luvs to be cheaper than Pampers but better quality. I too found the Pampers to fall apart.

Pampers are much better than huggies, I have a 3 year old and an 8 week old.

I only use Pampers. Whenever we use Huggies (or any other brand, for that matter), we have leaks and "blowouts." The Pampers seem to keep everything contained. And they aren't all that expensive, either.

I have always used pampers, i once bought huggies and really didn't like them i find pampers look more comfy for my son and huggies used to leave him with a red sore line along the crease of his leg where the nappy used to rub him! pampers active fit are the best i've tried!

huggies…they last so much longer

i like pampers. i found huggies also split and leaked when i used them on my daughter

Neither.
I used Huggies for the first three weeks, I also tried the trial Pampers' nappy from my Bounty pack and I hated the way the gel felt when disposing of a used nappy.
The only reason I was using disposables was because there was a supply problem with the cloth nappies I had ordered because the manufacturers are unable to keep up with demand.
My son is much happier in the cloth ones and I don't have any problem with the way they feel, so happy mummy too.

Huggies i never liked them pampers were better, but now i use morrisons supermarket own brand which are excellent. Aldi and lidl have good nappies too lidl have a littleyellow stripe that turns blue when it is time to change nappy. I think they are also great i have stopped buying the leading brands now. Why dont you give them a try. xx

Have you thought about how long both these nappies take to breakdown once you put them into landfill??? Pampers can take 900 years!!!!!
I personally use a brand called "MOLTEX". (i also use washable bamboozles during the day). They are unbleached nappies and contain no chemicals so you babies skin is much healthier. They are biodegradable and breakdown in 30 days. You can even compost them!
I have not had any problems with leakage, spilting etc and they are excellent quality.
I think we all need to do our bit for the environment for our children to grow up in a healthier world and these nappies are second best to washable ones.
